Underbitrated @ CRF19 - should be 18 Still has jerkiness as it's not VFR/hybrid

on ep10: (%) 8'01"+ 2x 30f zooms after another (%) 11'38"+ 30f semicircular pan over muto on the floor. jerky as it's not VFR/hybrid

@junh1024 The BD part is a second rip from kuchikirukia's 23fp already, and I didn't pay much on this project but just want a smaller rip. You spoke it then and I verified it, but I don't want to redo it. Sorry. qcomp 0.7 makes compensation under crf19, it is definitely ok compared with crf18. I have been blocked in my country. It's definitely not looking ok on a 24" 1080p monitor. I see artefacts on Anything moving. qcomp isn't really compensation. If you wanted the quality of CRF18 @ CRF19, you would raise psy to 1.00:0.10 . It's impossible to get CRF18 quality @ CRF19 just by tweaking qcomp. Otherwise, everyone else would be doing it instead of lowering CRF.

Just lower CRF to 18 instead - it's easier. There's a reason [YYDM-11FANS] uses CRF18 for their newer 720p releases - prolly cuz CRF19 just isn't good enough in general. (& they also change a few other settings as well).

So how to have smaller, but HQ rip?== -Use CRF18, or raise psy to 1.00:0.10 -Increase ref & bframes to 8 -Redo the audio @ AAC 120-150kps

On 1080p monitor, crf18 of x264 surely have bad performance in complex scenes, that's why I have moved to x265. And another, you can always get different recognitions of quality on different animes. It seems that TUTU BD is a upscale from DVD, so the quality by x264 is ok. You referred 11FANS, they set crf18 --psy-rd 0.3 --qcomp 0.6, I don't find much difference from crf19 --psy-rd 0.8 --qcomp 0.7. Can you tell it? I batch this using xiaowan tools. Their x264 is much effiency. That's why.
