I decided to use Leopard raws since their quality was good are you joking? both leopard and ohys are pretty mediocre, leopard might be better than ohys, but it's definitely not good

If you don't want to make your own encodes, Leopard works fine.
Unrelated: I recommend mkvtoolnix to mux in the .ass into the mkv, that way you can also include any fonts as attachments.
leopard is better than ohys, that's right. but it's still much worse than your own encode (if you do the encode properly, of course)
Encoding isn't an important part of the fansubbing process anyway.
