this was a fascinating ep for an unusual reason ... the hints if what it was going to go into started showing up in ep 08 ... but it really got into it in this story and that is the whole idea of a "dragon god" that is a local deity for an island, and what the priestesses who serve him must do ...
some of the extreme devotion to very old traditions can make those duties very restrictive on the life of a priestess ... this idea was also better, and more completely, explored in the manga Umi no Misaki
