These HD versions actually show more of the image that the files I have which are CalChi's encodes and my personally owned dvds.

So... Not cropped in my opinion. ;) The colors may be less vibrant, but those can always be altered. Other films may have been cropped for HD broadcast like "Coo", but not this one.
