Fumido - 3 (19 September 2007)

Fumido is a jazz trio of Kazuhisa Watari playing the piano and singing, Masaya “John” Toriguchi on bass, and Katsumi Nakatomi on drums. Last year they celebrated their ten-year anniversary, having debuted back in April of 2003. Personally, I feel that in the enormity of J-Pop and anime OP’s and ED’s, it is easy for us fans of Japanese music to overlook the fact that there are a number of great jazz, blues bands who hail from Japan. And Fumido is certainly one of those. Based on the title you can probably make a good guess about where this album fits into their discography; they have a proclivity for simple, numeric titles, and I believe they’ve gone up to 5 as of 2014.
