Someone alerted me to the fact that there is an article on ANN claiming that Sentai Filmworks has just inked a deal with Tatsunoko to license 11 of their classic anime titles, including the first Gatchaman series, the 1994 Gatchaman OVAs, and Casshan. I checked the Sentai Filmworks official website and they have a press release annoucing the acquisition of Gatchaman, but there is no mention of any other Tatsunoko titles.

So, if this turns out to be the real deal, all of my Casshan torrents will disappear in the next few days. I certainly see the licensing of more 1970s titles to be a positive trend, and encourage people to buy the official releases.
