The rip is enormous because it is a lossless Blu Ray rip. You are getting the exact same quality as the original BRs. No compression, no alteration to the video. If you have a 4:3 monitor, you will get windowboxing because the borders on either side of the video are hard coded into the video because it's meant for playback on 16:9 monitors. This can be cropped without re-encoding, google it.
