A great movie, and you don't need to know the original series (for which this acts as a special) to enjoy this, if you are wondering.
Note that the r2j dvd is widescreen cropped, unlike the R1 release (which, as it happens is bad quality - sadly). I really hope it will hit bluray one day, uncropped in the original 4:3 format...
