■ Video
The Sony Pictures BD is the worst of all available sources, with a lot of banding and minimal grain. Between the old JPN Aniplex Blu-ray & the new JPN SQUARE ENIX Blu-ray, the JPN SQUARE ENIX Blu-ray presents the best consistent grain, with minimal banding & line artifacts compared to the Aniplex version. So, it was chosen in the end as the video source.
As mentioned, the new JPN BD is not free from banding overall, so banding frames were specifically identified & zoned. Some fighting scenes, where particles are more visible, are better in the old JPN BD source, so those frames were replaced.
Overall, a light grain filter was added as the source has a lot of flat areas, so the mask was based on that. The end credits were zoned too.
■ Audio
Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV (2016) was produced with English as the primary audio language and was animated to match English lip-syncing. So, the Japanese version is the dubbed version.
Wanted to add Japanese audio too, but unfortunately, there is no English subtitle available for that one, just one Forced Japanese subtitle in the CEE UHD. Aside from that, all subtitles are for the main English track.
I tried spending some days syncing the English dub subtitle to Japanese, but Japanese has extra lines and not a one-to-one match with English Dub lines, so no luck there. (NF WEB had a Japanese track but no English sub there too for it, thanks @BYNDR for checking.)
The new JPN UHD has the Atmos track, which was included here; the 5.1 track didn't differ much or any, so it was not worth adding.
■ Commentary
JPN UHD has consistent 24-bit audio, where JPN BD has superfluous zero bytes, so kept the JPN UHD for this one, also not dual mono.
■ Subtitles & Chapters
All the English subtitles were OCR'ed & checked by me. All the other subs were taken from respective sources & synced to the main track.
The Estonian subtitle was OCR'ed & collected from @HDB and the Persian subtitle was by @anon.
There are Japanese chapter names available on both JPN BD, and they are similar. So took the chapter names from the new JPN BD, which was translated & cross-checked with the movie by me.
Both Japanese & English chapter names were added. They were synced to the closest I/P-frames.
Also, the Post-Credits Scene was added too at the End, as it was missing in the original chapter naming. The QP file was used to ensure chapters on IDR frames.
Thanks to the uploaders for the source. Greetings to everyone! Enjoy!
