qbt RSS is a super simple barebones RSS downloader, it cannot track anime lists, watched episodes, airing anime, dates etc, an actual alternative to use is Taiga, recommending the qBittorrent RSS downloader by itself is just retarded and invalidates your whole trashy comment tbh, you might as well just tell people to download everything manually. • nuking CR's styles
• ugly restyling
• using a single unsearchable title for shows w/ long titles
• not using the Majin encodes on CR for shows that actually benefit from it (like ToonsHub, VARYG and Erai-raws do now)

Reasons why SubsPlease is bad:

Bad file and title naming (Japanese names and absolute numbering, if the series title is long they sometimes come up with their own short name for the show). No sources indicated, you're left guessing which service it was ripped from unless you know exactly what to look for in mediainfo (which is also fucked by their muxing). Only rip CR and Hidive (others do ADN, AMZN, DSNP, NF etc). Only include English subs (most others include all available languages). Don't include chapters even when available Don't include layoutres in subtitles (VARYG, ToonsHub and Erai do). Bad subtitle restyling overriding/nuking alt styles. Only include the old 128kb/s CR audio instead of the new 192kb/s (VARYG, ToonsHub Erai, include it). Don't do dual audio with English dub (VARYG, ToonsHub do).

Sounds to me like you're just paranoid about AI, there are real people in this world who write descriptions and UIs like these, that's where the training that was used for the AI mostly comes from, but you can also ask it to write things like a retard in a non-professional manner which would even fool people like you because you expect it to always write in this style. To me as hobbyist programmer the only surefire way to know if something is AI gen is seeing the code, it has a very textbook style that it cannot change unlike a text description.

And fair enough let's say this is AI gen, and so what? if it's something useful and works well what is the problem? LLMs nowadays can write code better than you and I, stuff like Claude, Codex and Copilot has advanced a lot, seems to me that is you who is living under a rock, It is one of the very few things that AI is actually great at and will surpass humans in the not so distant future. Get on with the times, AI shit is here to stay whether we like it or not.

Everything that people complain about SubsPlease are minor nitpicks, most people are only interested in the English subs, even if English is not your native language. And 128kb/s vs 192kb/s? gimme a break, ain't nobody who can tell the difference between those bitrates. Not including dubs? that's what makes it great, I don't want to download shitty dubs, I don't use them, I hate dubs especially American English dubs, they're just unwanted bloat for people like me who don't want them.

Also I like the restyling that SubsPlease does, it's not like CR is actually good when it comes to subs, they're all over the place and inconsistent as fuck, isn't that the reason of the creation of Unfucked versions or TSPlease, if you want proper subs that look nice then wait for a "fansub" release with proper TS, expecting anything from CR or other shitty streaming sites is dumb. Heck a lot of subs these days are just damn plain SRTs, most of VARYG, ToonsHub releases consist of those, they don't even style them or do anything, they just dump that shit as it is and call it a day.

The only reasonable complains that I agree with are the chapters and the titles, they do choose shitty titles like the obscure short versions of them without including the full title somewhere in the torrent title or description, I understand it for ridiculously long Isekai names, but these days they seem to be doing it more and more almost like on purpose. But at least sites like Anidb almost always have those short titles which helps the software I use recognize their releases. The problem is that sites like MAL/Anilist/TVDB don't have them sometimes which makes it hard for software that depends on those to recognize those releases, even though the short titles are also official names.

If one doesn't like them there are a shit-ton of alternatives to choose from, and even this program lets you change the group you want to fetch, so bitching about all of this is dumb and meaningless.
