I started and binged Berserk till v41 recently. Finished v42 today.

It would not be wrong to call v42 fan fiction. It's not just about art/tone changes (though that irks me too). It's bad from a technical perspective and feels like amateur writing. The story jumps from plot point to plot point as if the writer just want to tick some check boxes and progress the story. You either don't know what's going on or the scenes don't pack the emotional punch they should have.
