[hydes] Samurai Champloo [BDRip 1920x1080 HEVC FLAC][Dual-Audio]
I was asked about a proper release using the modified subtitles that I'd previously uploaded on their own, so I added them together with Beatrice-Raws' BD encode and JP 2.0 track and NinjaPanda's English 5.1 track to fulfill the request. I also created a new Signs & Songs track to go with the English dub. The other old subtitles available on nyaa weren't timed the best (bleeds, link/snap threshold inconsistencies, high-CPS lines), and the typesetting wasn't always great either, so these should be a decent update.
Things I did to the subtitles:
- Fully retimed the dialogue to the original JP 2.0 mix (JP 5.1 is apparently an inferior upmix)
- Restyled the dialogue
- Made some TL edits to shorten high-CPS lines and added a couple of missing lines
- Redid the typesetting for all episodes (didn't touch the songs and skipped 1 sign in E06). It's not amazing TS but hopefully it's an improvement over the previous stuff. Big thanks to Hikari for helping to find the EP title font
- Split / joined some lines where I thought it made sense or to lower CPS (mainly split those extremely long lines that didn't look good or went to 3 or 4 rows)
- Added and changed line breaks
- Removed some ellipses from split lines
- Fixed any errors I noticed
Specifics
Video:
- Beatrice-Raws HEVC encode (1920x1080, 23.976 fps)
Audio:
- Japanese 2.0 FLAC (default)
- English 5.1 FLAC [NinjaPanda]
Subtitles:
- Signs & Songs
- English (default)
If you're a Cowboy Bebop fan, I recommend checking out JySzE’s release of the show, for which I retimed and QC’d the subtitles. Aergia's and Arid's releases of the Bebop movie are also recommended.

Thank you boss, I am free to delete (hide) my release now
Thanks for this. Had an almost identical mux sitting on my hard drive ready to release (it was opus tho).
@Marche For the average viewer it will be JPBD/Beatrice. It allegedly has IVTC issues but they'll be a lot less noticeable than the combing in the DVD.
Here's a link to a mega folder that has NCOP and NCED, as well as my slightly modified version of the hydes subs.
Subtitle changes include: -included no-karaoke subs -remove empty lines and unused styles -raised dialogue layer -set layoutres
So nothing massive, just thought I'd leave it here.
Appreciate this :)
Sneedex says the DVDs are better. Seadex says this encode is better.
Which is it?
