Are the subtitles supposed to look this weird? https://i.imgur.com/2FDWv3Q.png I would assume it's supposed to be placed on top of the other subs but this is completely out of position and hard to read, kind of a bummer was very distracting
Indeed, they aren't supposed to look like that. Are you maybe using a video player other than mpv?

@yonkoma, nope, I'm using mpv. but I just discovered it's cause I have set default font scale "sub-scale" to a smaller size. Subs are always way too big, is there a way to make the subs smaller without having the styling break? cause "sub-font-size" doesn't seem to work, size doesn't change.

You can change just the font size for just the Default style with an override. E.g. --sub-ass-style-overrides=Default.FontSize=30

hmm, I'm not sure what the problem could be then, that works for me you're sure the config file is being used?
@Kirino_Kousaka_is_my_waifu These are multi-layer karaoke effects that were built with the specific font size and position in mind. If you force a different font onto them you will break them.
