VS Knight Lamune & 40 Fire [VHS 480p][HECTO Fansub]
In 2008, Live-eviL picked up the show "VS Knight Lamune & 40 Fire" in hopes of seeing it get a resub, citing an "AWFUL –nameless- group well known for being inaccurate" as the reason for redoing it. They spent three years subtitling it as a joint project with Dattebayo, and did end up finishing the project. Nine years later, Discotek Media licensed the show, and put it on Crunchyroll as well as a SDBD.
But who cares about that? The original release of the show came out from 1996-1997 by HECTO Fansub, a VHS subbing group infamous for their horrible translation, editing, and timing, as well as a habit of putting swear words or made up lines in their script. While they were most known for shows such as Visions of Escaflowne and Rurouni Kenshin, they released this show on seven VHS tapes, all from TV video sources recorded off of the broadcast on TSC. These are recordings of all seven of these VHS tapes, captured from multi-gen tapes to 480p h264 using a Panasonic AG1980 SVHS deck over S-Video. Now you can experience the show exactly as people in the 90s did, with Lamune and crew spewing complete nonsense, all of Da Cider's jokes being random unrelated lines, old commercials they didn't bother cutting out, tons of random typos or mistranslations, and more! The future is now... HECTO Fansub

Ah, yes... the golden time of fansubs. And by "golden" I mean "piss stained".
Well, these are... interesting. Anyone interested in way more recent CR subs with RAWs? I managed to find the CR subs, so it's only a matter of RAWs now... there's the DmonHiro's remux, CiEL and NAOKI (and Zero-Raws but that is lost media I guess).
as the director intended.
The way anime as a whole was intended to be watched
How can Bluray even compare? Truly the best home entertainment medium!
@kingofhearts: I used the CR subs as well. Yours are the same as mine.
the white zombie amv at the end of the last tape is so fucking kino
