libaom

libaom has far higher quality for a given size, even though it's slower.

dnl 50

DNL I set that high as per the very grainy source, and 50 was the sweet spot for quality where higher or lower caused a worse looking picture given the same (lowering DNL demanded a much higher CRF) output bitrate. (yes I did try higher and lower and compared the output)

I only have the DVD images for The Masters and The New Generation. I should see if someone else has done it properly. (Edit: apparently there are BDs and BDRemuxes out for those now)

I never saw Sentinels or Shadow Chronicles.
