It does not belong on such spectrum because this is well filtered and well encoded, unlike those two extreme examples in bad encoding.

mpv, but since commenting I tested no-conf and it was fine so then I went through my conf to see what setting was causing it. Seems like it's an issue with 'vo=gpu-next'. Not sure why that is causing a coloration difference.
