• the iTunes artwork is 5000x5000 but it's clearly a horrible upscale
• OTOTOY's was 1600x1600 and Deezer's was 1200x1200, both still reek of bad upscale
• have an old Python script called GetNative used for anime
  • it can't make heads or tails of the image, probably because the raster lineart was upscaled and had effects applied to it before being upscaled again
• ➡ crop 1000x1000 from the center, hands/nails
• ➡ script now decides it's 142x142 native, but only barely
  • i.e. uncropped image was originally 710x710
  • I am losing interest at this point, you are too. the song's probably done downloading go listen to it
• ➡ nearest neighbor downscale fugly iTunes 5000x5000 to 710x710
• try waifu2x before remembering it isn't 2021 and we have much more advanced AI black magic now
• how do I use Photoshop? because now I have 6 different upscales, which are all uniquely "one step forward, one step back"
• less-fugly artwork
• realize my media player only displays artwork at 300x300
• question my life choices
