you should stop encoding, just use CR video because all you're doing is making the video worse.

Simple solution just remux to CR Video...

Not sure how encoding settings with a crf value of 16 could make a video worse... Anyways, good to see Kristen still around.

@Chihiro haloing in comp1, details wiped in comp2, banding introduced in comp3, changed the weather in comp5 by removing the rain, dark scenes bitstarved in comp8-9, more rain wipe in comp13, mouth lineart gets blurred enough to go from open mouth to closed in comp16, you're better in comp18, comp19 you fix the lineart but remove her mouth again

Gil, I won't be responding any more on this, but according to our encoder it is because of the anti-aliasing used. There is no way around it. Please also note that if making comparisons you should compare like to like, as nearly every comparison you provided is a Subsplease P frame compared to a Chihiro B frame.

Crunchyroll doesn't use B-frames, and B-frames make up the vast majority of a normal fansub encode, so it's not unfair at all to compare CR P-frames to fansub B-frames.
