The source is of good quality, with a native resolution of about 900p, and the whole image has protective grain so that there are almost no banding and other plane artifacts. It is worth mentioning that the noise patterns in the first and second chapters are not the same, resulting in the need to individually adjust denoising parameters for adaptation. On the other hand, how to deal with the unique line style of the Princess Principal series is also a matter of uncertainty. Considering only the movie version, We believe that the jaggedness of the lines is due to an improper upscaling algorithm, while the variation in shading is an effect introduced intentionally by the producer. Therefore, we chose to use conservative parameters in descaling and anti-aliasing processes to eliminate jaggedness, and to preserve the shading variation in the line parts as much as possible during compensatory sharpening.
