? I rarely ever see an AV1 release uploaded That isn't a ""mini encode"" (<400 MiB total file size or less imo) or weekly re-encodes, and I'm sure most people also see that (This torrent being in the top 10 of the largest AV1 encodes also kind of proves my point)

@Simplistic check to see if they used butteraugli on their av1 encode. https://github.com/google/butteraugli Google says: "Butteraugli is a project that estimates the psychovisual similarity of two images. It gives a score for the images that is reliable in the domain of barely noticeable differences. Butteraugli not only gives a scalar score, but also computes a spatial map of the level of differences." This results in a huge payoff regarding file size to visual quality perception. Some encoders are willing to encode at 1-2fps just because butteraugli is THAT much worth it.

I'm not saying that the encodes are bad or anything, I'm just noticing how the average AV1 release is always tiny by comparison to normal HEVC and AVC encodes and how this one is more around the size of what most people (apparently) consider a "HEVC mini encode"
