To be honest I don't understand this HEVC releases.

Of course, x265 is a great thing, but let's not exaggerate that it reduces the size to 400 MB, which is 70% less file size compared to x264. Average, if the 1080p anime TV episodes in x264 are 1.4GB in size, then the x265 episodes should be around 800mb (40% less). I believe that deviating from this norm already results in a visible loss of quality, especially at large screens. This may only change in future by popularity of the x266 codec but not before.
