Description

CESTUS:

A cestus or caestus is an ancient battle glove, sometimes used in pankration. They were worn like modern boxing gloves, but were made with leather strips and sometimes filled with iron plates or fitted with blades or spikes, and used as weapons.

Lusca:

In Caribbean folklore, the lusca is a name given to a sea monster said to exist in the region.

The name CESTVS is just a gimmick for the old writing of said name. It was not meant to be used as often as the Anime series translators decided to use it. This version restores the original names and locations

Don't listen to amaanu01, He's still a dumbass.

Cestus is an battle glove, yes, but the NAME of the main character is Cestvs, the name of the anime/manga is based on main character's name, not the aformentioned glove. Sesutasu is the romanization of the name of MC, whereas kesutasu is the romanization of cestus, because C is always K in Latin... TLDR; Cestvs is valid name.

It doesn't matter if it is a made-up proper name. V is not a vowel. Here it is an oddity.

Who wants to tell them that U and V weren't even really thought of as different letters until the 1600s

The official spelling "CESTVS THE ROMAN FIGHTER" is done inside the anime itself by the studio. I don't think people should change names of shows or characters. Furthermore, the first series of the manga as published by Hakusensha is titled "Kentō Ankoku Den Cestvs". The official website also uses the "v" as in https://cestvs-anime.com/
