I got curious since there was that one comment asking about censorship on the old torrent, so I checked it with the fan-scanlation.

And, sure enough, they censored the female nipples you see every now and then.

It was printed in (and likely edited around) 2005. Rated for T+, "Older Teen and is recommended for ages 16 and up. It contains harsh language and sexual situations."

Why does america have to be so prude. Blood and violence in media? No problem. A little bit of nudity? Heaven forbid, that's an 18+ rating!

I only checked the first volume. There you can see it in chapter 2, around page 65, the pinup picture that the Ichitaka boy gives the MC. In the VIZ release it is censored with black stars, in the scanlation it isn't. (https://mangakakalot.com/chapter/is/chapter_2)

Gantz was never released digitally.

The existing volumes that do exist are scanned from the official release.
