[Orphan] Sensou Douwa - Chiisai Sensuikan ni Koi o Shita Dekasugiru Kujira no Hanashi (480p)

Orphan presents the first English version the 2004 TV special, Chiisai Sensuikan ni Koi o Shita Dekasugiru Kujira no Hanashi (The Tale of the Ginormous Whale That Loved a Little Submarine). This is the third show in Shin-Ei Animation’s Sensou Douwa (War Fables) series. It is considerably expanded from a short story by Nosaka Akiyuki, who also wrote The Grave of the Fireflies. It is a bit lighter in tone than the other specials in this series, but it still packs an emotional wallop. For more information, see this blog entry.
