あらすじ

荒廃した街・架見崎には、先住民はいない。だがこの街では、香屋たちのような“プレイヤー”1000人ほどが生活していた。 架見崎には食料をはじめとした物資が不足しているが、コンビニやスーパーなどに多少は残されている。そしてその物資は、消費してもループのたび、同じ場所に復元する。 プレイヤーは、運営を名乗る謎の存在に対してポイントを支払って、望む能力を購入できる。彼らはその能力を使い、チームを組んで乏しい物資を巡る戦いを続けていた。

充分な食糧が欲しければ、戦い、殺し合い、コンビニなどの施設を獲得しなければならない。 だが香屋たちがまず拾われたのは、主な物資がポップコーンとコーラしかない、映画館を根城にしたチーム「キネマ倶楽部」だった。 弱小チームのキネマ倶楽部は即戦力を求めるが、香屋も秋穂も、獲得していたのはまったく戦闘の役には立たない能力で——

生存戦略に反則はない。ルールブックの穴をつく、臆病者の戦いが始まる。

Synopsis:

“Are you trying to be a hero?” “No, I want to be a princess.” Rather than fight, I want to be the one being protected. Cowardly highschooler Kaya Ayumu, and his childhood friend Akiho Shiori wandered into the streets of “Kamisaki” where the month of August loops over and over again.

There were no original inhabitants in the ruined streets of Kamisaki. However, close to 1000 “players” like Kaya and Akiho made their living there. Resources in Kamisaki were scarce, including food, but there still remained a few convenience stores and supermarkets. And when another loop begins, so do their supplies replenish. The players pay a certain amount of points to a mysterious being known as the Operator in exchange for a power of their choosing. With these abilities, the players form Teams in an unending fight for resources.

If you want to fill your belly, fight, kill, and capture the convenience store. However, the Team which took them in was none other than “Cinema Club”, whose base of a movie theater only had mainly popcorn and soda. Despite their hopes of scouting members with strong combat abilities, the abilities Kaya and Akiho chose were something completely unrelated to fighting…

All’s fair in love and war. The fight of a coward begins from loopholes.
