K×Drop!! is a small project of a indie animator. It didn't have any subtitles so we gave it some and made a filtered encode as well.

The source had some heavy banding issues and artifacts in some scenes. There were two different video streams for this, an AVC/H264 and a VP9 stream. Both had different problems. Our encoder took the best scenes out of each and spliced them together. Additionally, a denoise, deband and anti-aliasing was applied.

Comparison between AVC, VP9 and our encode The aforementioned problems can best be seen in comparison #3.

Vapoursynth script for those interested. Yes, I'm importing vsutil and some of its stuff separately. I promise I'll clean that up at some point.
