8 bit encodes play without stuttering. 10 stutter or playback is too slow. Thank goodness at least you seem to be doing 8bit these days. Other people I have seen doing 10bit. You could only include pixels with chroma. To do that with FFMPEG, it is -pix_fmt yuv444p -filter:v 'scale=-1:ih/2' -sws_flags fast_bilinear+full_chroma_inp+full_chroma_int
