When I first saw this DVD, I didn't think it was a Japanese animated series as I had Felix the Cat next to it (great show, btw). So, this show appears to be an Italian-Japanese production, kinda like Sherlock Hound was, too.

Fun-fact: The Japanese audio version features Nozawa Masako as Calimero's Mother!

No, it's the second series from the 1990's (Calimero & Valeriano)
