Unfortunately there is no official "Digital copy" of this series, sorry man.........

But there is the B&W version, the original manga, it is HDish......

@prothomas yeah I know... I have been looking for a good scan of Akira for years now and all I could find is a pretty decent scan of the color version thats unfortunately in Italian. I tried formatting it to English once but it would take ages for a single person to do this. I uploaded it here if you're interested.

I checked it out, seems pretty decent. I am really sorry for hardcore Akira fans like you who is expecting something still from that franchise, Hollywood has been driving fans insane by making us anticipate for a "live-action" movie. When I think they should first think about making this series more accessible to a wide range of audience first...... so the first thing to do is not make a big budget movie (Which is going to be shit anyways and completely "white washed") but rather maybe make a digital copy of The manga first.

DC's Vertigo imprint is great in general. When you're done with the Sandman, consider DMZ and Fables, they're pretty good, too.

I still remember the first time i saw the movie and then heard it was based on a comic, so i went on a hunt to find them out, i found some issues at my local comic store.... and when i finished reading them, i felt "epic" to say the least

The Germans have a digital color version if you feel like working on that. Looks great.

On second thought it might be c2c but still looks near digital. Kinda like when XRA works on a scan.

@Kilroyyorlik, more info? I found these in GERMAN/DEUTSCH: https://mega.nz/folder/yI5QFAqY#9t975p9QbYrrBEqQGdyZsA Colored/Mirrored ~1.09GB total, 19"double"issues+20*Artbook. It's like DigitalNoiseRemoval = Soft Blur; looks good, less detail. Mid-tones in B&W mangas are strokes/patterns, NOT grey-ish. => Color comix could be misty bc' of print/scan/dpi/resolution... But color-gamma/contrast/saturation/couple-pages, great edit!

Crazy the 35th anniversary box set wasn't scanned. Did you ever complete your remaster project?
