+ Screenshot comparison album with Exiled-Destiny release: Disc 2 edition. + I said it would be soon. Episode 3 will also be relatively soon, here’s hoping I don’t get distracted by anything in the interim. Like, games, or the world burning down outside. + For the first time, there’s a slight trade off - if you compared the R1 DVD release to the original LD release, you’d actually see some slight differences in the way dark areas are shown. Notably, darks are a little darker and retain a bit more detail in the DVD than the LD release. This is baked into both, not any encodes, and you can see an example here. This is as of yet the only advantage I can possibly discern in the DVD release, and even then - the gross amount of detail loss, discoloration, etc in the DVD more than make completely inferior to the LD, but it’s fun to notice. + Quarantined? Feeling down? Never fear! Watch some cool OVAs featuring not only (comparatively) crystal clear video but lovely AAC, simply the best audio codec for maximizing both compression and quality!
