The one example you had to show in your comparison is one where you use the wrong descale settings? Note that this show is not native 848p, either. It's a mix of multiple resolutions (844-849, likely including some 1080p and 720p scenes, too). If you want to actually descale this properly, you're gonna need to use something like my smart_descale. Results should be far better.
