kinda ironic that Hashira became pillar, but Master of the mansion became Oyakata-sama. So what was the goal here?

As stated in the description, this is mostly done to make the terminology more in line with the unofficial manga translations, which used "Oyakata-sama". I couldn't tell you why the translator made that decision.
