True. As long as it's fun and/or interesting, I'll watch it and I really don't care if it's Donghua or Anime.
In English (or even USA talk) it would be called a Cartoon . It is just that the term Cartoon is somewhat associated with children's entertainment . So to avoid any stigma of watching Cartoons , adopting the Japanese adopted word for animation makes it sound more of an adult pastime , watching anime . However , if every country producing animated works wants those works known by that county's term , it may be simpler to use the English term Cartoon . That is , Japanese Cartoons , Chinese Cartoons , etcetera !!!!
