well ... that ep was a bit of a disappointment ... there just "happens" to be an older spaceship of the exact same type as the one the part is on, that can no longer do space travel ... so they can do a nice simple parts swap and get back to earth ....... aaaaaaannnnnnnd so they can just happen to meet someone from 12 yrs earlier who I can suspect will be a student, who just happened to be part of a group of students who just happened to have had something very similar happen to "their" group and she is the only survivor who lived to tell the tale ........ that these "school field trips" to the planet sometimes get used to get rid of troublesome children of powerful/rich parents who no longer want them around
it would have been much better/more dramatic it the ship they had found was an alien spacecraft ... then the super genius pilot would have had to try to figure out how to either fix the alien craft with everyone working together to do it, or figure out how to use parts of the alien craft to fix their own spaceship, again with everyone working together to survive, fix their spaceship, and get home
