Maybe it was pointless, but making a 720p release for DVD would be even more pointless imo. I think 576p is kinda okay as PAL DVDs all have 720x576 resolution (I know the source for this was NTSC which is only 720x480, so I could've encoded this into 640x480).

It's standard to upscale to 576p. The justification is that it makes typesetting easier.

For anyone wondering about subtitles, all episodes are fully translated on YouTube; uploaded on the channel, "DefendPTR".

The translations are from "Trainfan1055" and typeset by "Michaela Worsley": they can be found at @ParappaFanClub on Facebook.

I managed to extract all the subtitles from the videos, and I might drop a Dropbox link here if it's alright with @EruPii.

Keep in mind that the YouTube videos are from a VHS rip, so the subtitles might not be a 1:1 sync rate with the DVD source. I did test the first episode, and that seems pretty good but I can't guarantee it'll work with all the others.

I've tested out the subtitles panda_boy_103 mentioned on the first 5 episodes and they do appear to sync of quite well.
