those mech design is back to the day of Grandzort and Lamune knight. yup one of the trend back in year 80s......no gundam there. more than that the plot also similar, the magical robot (that look like a dwarf) be pilot by people with magic item and magic power. which many of them come from another word. hah ! a classic isekai.
