VLC is pretty shit, so... you know. MPC is still the best option. Just get madVR and XySubFilter. MPV is for nerds. Probably only fansubbers and encoders use this. And it's not nearly as good as they claim. Basically... negligible.

I wish I could've given it to you a long time ago like Pancreas ;__; Official English BD comes out August 6th and editor says he'll certainly have it done long before then, so there's that at least. On the bright side, Italian BD comes out May 29th and that might actually be better than the JP BD.

This is a bug in the renderer not the whole of VLC.

Go to Settings - Video and change the output to OpenGL or one of the others that works, I would use OpenGL for Windows as it’s accelerated and the other ‘OpenGL’ makes your cursor vanish under the image, or DirectX 9.

Direct3D11 - broken, black + flicker Direct3D9 video output - fine DirectX (DirectDraw) video output - broken, pink screen Windows GDI video output- fine OpenGL video output for Windows - fine OpenGL video output - fine
