Seeing as I try to be Some-Stuffs for impatient people with this tag, I'm pretty sure I have the same exact margins that Some-Stuffs does. Take it up with them, or extract the subs and make the small adjustment to the vertical margin field in the dialogue's styles. (You might even be able to change this in your video player settings; I'd be surprised if mpv can't do it)

I also wouldn't consider any release's margins any more "normal" than any other's, as long as nothing's comically big or small.
