Shashot's data has been completely wiped, and the team quickly discovers that he truly could be lost -- and that it may have been all part of Iza's plan. With the entire team depressed, Azusa takes matters into her own hands to try to restore some semblance of hope. Kairen, who survived the previous battle, plans a last-ditch effort to conquer the surface.

Notes: The song that the team records is a classic Railway Song. Hayato sings it himself in an early episode. 66 verses long, it describes the sights seen by a traveler in the early days of the railways departing from Tokyo and heading West. Only a few verses are depicted here, but in the song, the singer eventually leaves Tokyo and travels through the countryside, reaching Kyoto, Osaka, and beyond. The song can be heard currently as the jingle in Shinagawa due to its prominent mention of the seaside near the station.
