1080 p smears the details, or I should say it seems to use more line thinning. at least in new off air series encodes. 720 p seems to retain more detail. Tho 1080 looks bomb for film. Too late now but Ida turned up the encoding size etc to get eps around 800mb a pop for 720. I would always run at least 10 different settings to see what looked best, but that was for laserdiscs and VHS tapes!!!
